Once known as Bookspot Cafe, we’ve turned the page and embraced a new chapter as Spellbound Stories Bookstore. Here, we believe books are more than ink and paper - they're portals to other worlds, invitations to epic adventures, introductions to unforgettable book boyfriends (and the occasional villain we can’t help but love), and they put a spell on us all that light up our everyday lives.

Based in the Illawarra, we love bringing those elusive special editions from the US and UK straight to your shelf - because every reader deserves a little bookish treasure. You’ll find a curated selection of traditionally published favourites and hidden gems from incredible indie authors, and an expanding collection of bookish merchandise.
We believe in sharing the joy of reading, and building a community that feels like home.
Hey, hi, hello! I'm Lana, the owner of Spellbound Stories Bookstore!
I'm the one you would've seen sitting on the floor in the aisles of the popular bookshop, Angus and Robertson, with a book picked off their shelves, whilst my Mum did the groceries on a Saturday morning. I was either discovering the latest read to pester my Mum to let me bring home, or diving back into the current book I was reading at home just because I couldn’t bare not to read for an hour or two.
Spellbound Stories Bookstore is my little love letter to books - and to you! Nothing makes me happier than seeing your excitement when your books arrive and knowing they’ve added a little magic to your day.
Hiya, I'm Morgan, but you can call me MJ!
My love for books began after sneaking peeks around the corner at The Lord of the Rings playing on the TV while my father watched. I was probably a little too young to be watching, but I was captivated by the magic of imagined worlds and unforgettable characters. That early fascination turned into a lifelong love of stories, all born from the pages of books crafted by brilliantly creative authors.
As I grew up, reading became my favourite ritual, and most nights ended with a book resting in my lap and my mind wandering far beyond the real world.
We hope to one day establish a physical bookstore - where the shelves are lined with magic, the air smells like stories waiting to be told, and book lovers can feel right at home.
And so we can tell you in person that you absolutely need that book.
